The Reduced Shakespeare Company on R4
« on: January 15, 2009, 09:50:45 PM »
Ok, someone has to go first...

We\'re fans of the RSC - both the real one in Stratford, and the Reduced Shakespeare Company - and there\'s a reduced version of George Dubbya on next week on R4.

As in

\"Adam Long, co-founder of the Reduced Shakespeare Company, joins two friends with a few guitars to take a wry look back at the two-term rollercoaster that was the presidency of George W Bush.

21 Jan 2009, 20:45 on BBC Radio 4 Duration 15 minutes.\"

BTW, Stratford on Avon has gone to a ball of chalk for the time being.

They\'re messing up their theatres unimaginably. And I\'m not just talking about the way they\'re destroying where we used to feed the ducks. And there wasn\'t much wrong with the RSC. Or the Swan. Or The Other Place.

We went there a few months back and it was, quite honestly, dreadful. We saw the Merchant of Venice. I don\'t like thrust stages, I don\'t like Shakespeare in modern day costume, and I hated the vaguely politically correct Shylock. It was awful.

Don\'t go until they\'ve sorted the mess out!

There\'s a link to the RSC Transformation HERE. I haven\'t watched it, because we were so disappointed the last time we were there.
