Maybe it\'s time for you to move on from XP?

When my main computer failed last year, and then I found that my backup computer had also stopped working, my plan was to start using an old Vista laptop as my main computer. However, I\'ve been in no state, either physically or mentally, to organise this yet; so I\'ve been using the old XP netbook, which is permanently switched on (with the cover closed!), and connected to a 21\" monitor and a USB keyboard and mouse, as well as a powered USB hub, which I bought originally to use as a power supply for the Raspberry Pi that I haven\'t got round to buying yet. My slightly longer-term plan was to move from the Vista laptop to a Linux machine, having first used the Raspberry Pi to familiarise myself with a version of Linux (perhaps even continuing with just the Raspberry Pi as my main machine, because my computing needs are modest). Of course that is even further off.
