RIP Peter O\'Toole
« on: December 17, 2013, 12:30:59 PM »
I was so sad to hear of his passing on the 14th.

So many wonderful movies! He was one of those actors who ate up the screen. You just couldn\'t help being mesmerized by him. A great talent who will be sorely missed.  :(

So true: Aged 9 our ma took us to see the L of A premier. I was in awe. To me his name is intimately associated with my family\'s Anglo-Egyptian roots and my childhood even if TE Lawrence and David Lean were the genitors of that incredible production. His passing affects me keenly. Thanks for posting.

He was one of the greats. Them there eyes!

When Lawrence opened in my home town when I was a lad I went to see it three nights in a row.

Now, I\'ve watched it so often I can almost recite the bloody thing.

\'No; it\'s going to be fun.\' Then he blew out the match and the sun was there and the world changed.

In my dotage nerves don\'t allow me to get beyond the point where the detonator explodes in the kid\'s gut! This really annoys me and I try and try ...

A film among films!

That is movie gold right there, Robert! I\'ll never forget it.
