Big Finish have a multi-Doctor special coming out in a couple of months, to celebrate the 50th. With Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann and recast Doctors 1-3 \'soundalikes\' .

Here\'s a sound trailer for it: https://soundcloud.com/big-finish/doctor-who-the-light-at-the-1/s-fvfwy

So is Big Finish in charge of celebrating the anniversary for Doctors 1-8 and BBC tv celebrating 9-11/12?

Really looking forward to this BF release though. I just downloaded BF178 Fanfare for the Common Man featuring Peter Davison.

Still can\'t wrap my head around that Doctor 10 has Doctor 5 as his father in law (David Tennant\'s wife Georgia Moffatt is Peter Davison\'s daughter, Georgia\'s mother Sandra Dickinson played Trillian in the tv series based on Douglas Adams\' Hitchhiker\'s Guide to the Galaxy)

Of course, Georgia\'s husband is also Jennie\'s (played by Georgia) father (played by David).

As i have said many times, if they decide to go for a female DW, Georgia  is the obvious person as we all know she carries the DNA.

I can really see Heather Peace in the part:

BBC News - Heather Peace: 'I want to be the first female Doctor Who'

I haven\'t seen her acting, but in that photograph, at least, she has exactly the right look of sardonic and slightly alien authority.

Would Heather settle for playing Romana? She has the look of Romana also.

Their licence is for the \'classic\' era eg 1963 up to and including the 1996 TV Movie with Paul McGann as the Doctor.  No more, no less. They get the licence for 4 years at a time and so far its always been renewed every time it\'s up, since they started in 1999.

Speaking of 1963, in celebration of the 50th DW anniv, BF is releasing stories based in 1963. The first story is the 5th Doctor bringing Nyssa to the start of Beatlemania but in 1963 instead of the Fab Four they are greeted by the trio The Common Men...there are three other 1963 stories in the pipeline culminating with the 5 Doctor Story in November (starring the 5 remaining Doctors of the Classic era plus their companions).

Big Finish\'s best ongoing series, in my opinion is Jago and Litefoot. The series 6 box set has just come out, but I\'m a little behind and still have to buy Series 5 before I get that.

Christpher Benjamin and Trevor Baxter reprise their roles of Henry Gordon Jago, theatre manager and impresario (think Leonard Sachs, guys!) and Professor George Litefoot,  pathologist,.  as seen in the Fourth Doctor  TV serial The Talons Of Weng Chiang in 1977. Together they investigate mysteries and infernal incidents in late 1880s London.
