Can I add my welcome to all the new posters? :)-D

Must say I admire your patience, refusing to jump ship until the bitter end.

I haven\'t bothered with the R7MB since the powers that be couldn\'t even be bothered to correct that stupid \"last posting\" problem, which to my mind was a sure sign that the board was earmarked for closure.
I\'m NOT paranoid......thats just what THEY want you to think!!!

Oh, but the Sevenfan pseudo is perfect and says it all. A hearty welcome to you Ma\'am. Anticipating muchly the on-going cut \'n thrust of the 7 club here. It\'s heartening to know we can sustain the memory!

I have two requests.

Can you translate the words above (in pink) into standard English with sentences and a meaning that should be understandable to most people?

Give us a clue to the censored word with 19 letters.

Right Penny, or mostly so! Hope you\'ll allow a fella a minor tweak or two ... just to set the history right!

created for insomniacs to assemble (I admit special interest here), not only to crow in triumph at Auntie, who shuts down on the humble boarder after the sandman\'s passed, but also to allow the many on different time zones a place for gossip with others in an awakened world. As the title implies the pitch tends to pub style.

No, as mentioned above, it was created as a board for the late late chat and to allow inhabitants of different time zones to spar in \"internet relay chat\" style. The flavour might be light banter!

Tru:   No disrespect meant to Ivor!    I could have thanked  him, K particularly , yourself,  and perhaps one or two others such as PAW and even some I dont know of for making the Phorum accessible but I thought it might embarrass you  And it would have started to sound like one of those tedious acknowledgements that go on for pages at the start of books.

I singled out Jan because  the point I was trying to make is the nicest thing about this Phorum is we get to know each other and help individually and an example is that Jan has understood and noted my sorrow at the scarcity of good readings and plays and taken the trouble to look them out and draw my attention to them.

As for the rest of the post, I bow to your superior experience and any way I think we are back to our habit of taking different routes to reach the same conclusion!    However I think I am not the only one to be confused about the purposes of the Pub and Subjects.   The idea of a board for people in different time zones is interesting, but personally I think unnecessary when all the areas are open and used round the clock.    I DO distinctly remember the moans about the Beebs Notice Boards closing over Christmas because that was when I crossed over!

Hello everyone,

I\'ve just signed up here due to the Beeb closing the originals. I\'d been posting there for about 7 years, as Reverend Unseemly Dogposture, Wonko the Sane & before that Seymour the Fractal Cat. I don\'t post as much as I used to but thanks for the refuge.

Afternoon, Vicar. Have a cup of tea and a slice of Battenburg. Welcome to the house.

As I have just said, over on R7MB, this has been one of the busiest Saturday afternoons, posting-wise, that I remember. It is a shame that it always takes hassle on R7 to cause such a torrent of writing.

Hi Ross. Thanks for joining us. In the past, we were accused of being a group of friends having a chat. As I said at the time, what we needed were a few more users to expand the subjects and the opinions. With the influx from R7 over the last 9 months or so, especially the last week, we can stretch out.

The increased \'fan base\' will mean changes to the format, but it means that everyone has chance to take part in the growth and its nurture.

My goodness! So many old friends! Woohoo! So very, very glad to see you all here. I have really been bummed out since I heard about the boards closing. It makes it a lot easier knowing so many of you have joined us over here. :)

(By the by, I thought K started the Pub for the Christmas closure too :S  )

By my reckoning, the first entry on the Pub was by Pete, closely followed by my good self, both on 15/03/2009.
