Mr. Finchley, Goes to Paris
« on: February 08, 2009, 02:43:13 AM »
I just finished this series and I loved, loved, loved it! I haven\'t had so much lighthearted fun listening to a program since Wooster and Jeeves. I\'d never heard of this series before, but it\'s definitely become one of my favorites. A great escape.

I think I heard they had another one coming up....hope so... :)

Out of his 50 or so novels, Victor Canning only wrote three Mr Finchley novels (Mr. Finchley discovers his England (aka Mr. Finchley\'s holiday), Mr. Finchley goes to Paris, and Mr. Finchley takes the road.

Only the second two have been dramatised, and BBC7 has broadcast them quite a few times.

There\'s a handful of other radios works, but I think these are the only ones which get broadcast.

I\'m so sorry to hear there are only two :(  I started listening to the second one today and realized how much I\'ll miss this one.
